Word Count:
1500 words (+/- 10% e.g. Min. 1350 – Max. 1650. Note: Reference list is not included in the word count)

Topic:
‘The Role of Unconscious Bias in Technology and the Workplace’

Method:
The student will research and include at least two academic journal references and two other sources e.g., authentic online newspapers, websites etc. with the essay on submission.

N.B. All must be correctly referenced using the Harvard Referencing System. Submit using MS Word Doc format .docx – do not submit a PDF.

Essay Format

• Typed A4 Document with Cover Page, Main Essay and Reference List
• Main body of text should be TN Roman, Font-size 12 or Aptos Font-size 11, Centre Heading larger than main body text but only slightly.
• Line Spacing of 1.5
• Insert a single space between paragraphs and include page numbers (centred or right aligned) in the Footer

Include:

1. A Cover Page to show: Assignment details, student name and number, lecturer’s name.
2. The Main Body of the essay (showing a centred essay TITLE at the top followed by a series of left aligned paragraphs (side headings DO NOT appear in an academic essay)).

Students will be marked on the following:
a. Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation with clear meaningful sentences.
b. Layout of essay – organised in a logical progressive style with introductory and concluding paragraphs.

3. Reference List: each essay should include a Reference List on a separate final page showing the full data for references cited in the essay.
