LOGT9042 students at TU Dublin worked through two supply chain cases in Weeks 3 and 4, Toad Run and Necakno, Inc. This engagement activity asks for a short personal reflection on the case you attended, built around a single learning point and a reflective model, with APA 7th referencing and a GenAI statement if AI was used for ideas.
What the Reflection Must Do
Reflect on one of the two case studies analysed in class (Toad Run OR Necakno, Inc.) to show your understanding of course concepts, their practical application and how the experience helped you consolidate the theory covered in class. A reflection is not a summary of the case: think about what surprised, challenged or impressed you while working in your group, what other skills you gained and how you might change your practice. The TU Dublin library guide on reflective practice covers Gibbs’ reflective cycle, Kolb’s experiential learning model and Driscoll’s model.
- Focus on one aspect of your learning: a theoretical concept the case clarified, how your group worked together, or a skill you developed, discussed in the context of your class experience.
- Approximately 500 words (±10%); cover page and reference list not counted.
- Use in-text citations and a reference list in APA 7th edition for any sources consulted.
- If generative AI was used for idea generation or structuring, add a short statement after the reference list explaining how.
- Cover page: name and student number, programme, module, title of the reflective piece and tutors’ names. File name format: Surname_EngAct2LOGT9402.
- Only the case session you attended can be reflected on; reflecting on a case you did not attend scores 0. Late work loses 10 marks within 24 hours, then 2 marks per 24 hours, and is capped at 50% after seven days.
Rubric Weightings
- Relevance of reflection: 20%
- Depth of analysis: 25%
- Interconnections with prior learning experience: 20%
- Clarity, completeness and presentation: 25%
- Referencing accuracy and academic integrity, including transparency of GenAI use: 10%
Generative AI is allowed only at Level 2 of the AI Assessment Scale (idea generation and structuring); no AI-generated content may appear in the final submission.

The top band on this rubric goes to reflections that link one clear insight to theory and to earlier learning. Rather than retelling Toad Run or Necakno, choose a single moment, such as a disagreement over order quantities or a forecasting assumption your group got wrong, and take it through each stage of Gibbs or Driscoll until you reach a concrete change in how you will work.
