5N1390 Assessment Skills Demonstration

‘A skills demonstration is used to assess a wide range of practical based learning outcomes including practical skills and knowledge. A skills demonstration will require the learner to complete a task or series of tasks that demonstrate a range of skills.’

Guidelines

Please include all of the following:

Task 1: CV and Cover Letter (Word Count 1000 +/- 10%)

(i) Create a cover letter to support a job application (Limited to 1 page maximum)

(ii) Create a CV (within 2 pages maximum) which should include the following content:

• Personal profile
• Education
• Qualifications
• Employment history
• Key skills
• Personal interests and achievements –

Task 2: Effective Meetings (Word Count 750 +/- 10%)

Based on a recent meeting you have attended/participated, please address the following

• Table of contents to support the meeting
• Date, time, venue, attendees, and Chairperson of meeting
• Agenda items of the meeting
• Purpose and objectives of the meeting
• A description of the role of the participants at the meeting.

(Note – This can be a real-life meeting or based on a fictious/hypothetical scenario).

Task 1: CV and Cover Letter

• Personal profile 3 Marks 
• Education 3 Marks
• Qualifications 3 Marks
• Employment history 3 Marks
• Key skills   3 Marks
• Personal interests and achievements 3 Marks
• References  2 Marks

Subtotal : 35 Marks

Task 2: Effective Meetings

• Date, time, venue, attendees and Chairperson of meeting 5 Marks
• Agenda items of the meeting 3 Marks
• Purpose and objectives of the meeting  3 Marks
• A description of the role of the participants at the meeting 3 Marks

Subtotal : 15 Marks
Total : 50 Marks
