Research the care needs of a client from one of the life stages within a care setting.

You are required to present 2 case studies of clients within a care setting, each assignment must be a different case study from the life span: Your case study can be your own or you can choose from the ones provided:

1. Case Study on a Child
2. Case Study on an Adolescence
3. Case Study on an Adult
4. Case Study on an Older person.

All Assignments Must be:

1. Supported with relevant research.
2. Draw comparisons between theories.
3. Written in third party.
4. Follow structured guidelines and headings, addressing all points.
5. And ensure all names of individuals, organisations have been changed to protect confidentiality.

WORD COUNT:  2000 words per assignment {+/- 10%}

Please note: if you do go over your word count/limit deduction will be at tutor discretion, based on the relevance of the information submitted. Please note:  the following are not included in your word count.

• Content’s page – must be included.
• Bibliography/reference list – must be included.
• Appendices – optional

Additional Guidelines for Option One and Two Assignments

Please follow the below structure for your assignments.

Introduction: In this section give an overview of where you work and what is your role. Also, give an overview of the aims and objectives of the assignment.

Client Profile: Client’s age, how long in care facility, medical condition, family history, relevant information.

Needs Being Met:  In this section you are required to address needs been met and discuss

• Areas to address = physical needs / cognitive needs / social needs / language development / emotional needs and social needs
• Refer to theories – ensure to have at least a minimum of 3 theorist in your work and they are relevant.
• Is their development at the correct stage of the life span.

Needs Not Being Met: In this section you are required to address at least 2 needs not being met and discuss reasons.  Refer to theories and illustrate understanding of their theory and how it relates to chosen client.

Interpersonal Skills: In this section, you are required to discuss the skills employed by you in order to meet client’s needs:

• Communication skills
• Empathy
• Practical skills.

Strategies: In this section, you are required to identify at least one effective strategy from each section listed below, been utilised to assist the client.

• Family or / friend / peer involvement
• Government involvement
• Voluntary agencies / community agencies.

Conclusion & Recommendations

In this section, you will conclude by giving an overview of your assignment and reflect on what you have learnt, and how this will enhance your self-confidence. You are also required to provide a recommendation on a course of action you think would be benefit your client. You are also required to explore your own personal fears, prejudices, anxieties.
